Dear Parents,

I am extending an invitation to you and your child to be a part of the Sacred Heart Preschool for the 2023-2024 school year.

My name is Alicia Schock and I have been the Preschool Director at Sacred Heart for the past twenty-two years.  I graduated from Peru State College with a B.S. in Elementary Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Preschool Handicapped Education.  I am assisted by Julie Stice and together we strive to create a warm and welcoming place for your child.

Requirements for preschool are that the child is three-years-old by July 31 and is fully potty- trained and independent in the bathroom.  The preschool runs M-F from 8:00 A.M. to 3:10 P.M.  Four and five-year-olds have the option of coming any day of your choosing Monday through Friday (minimum of 2 days).  Three-year-olds may come on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  All ages have the choice of full-day or half-day sessions (8:00-11:40).

Tuition will be charged quarterly (4 times/year).  You may refer to the attached sheet for prices.  Full day students will also have 2 snacks, 1 milk, 1 juice, and lunch for a cost of $3.80/day*.  Half-day students will pay $.75* for snack and milk.  Free and reduced lunches are available for those who qualify.  After School Daycare is available for those who need it at the cost of $2.00/hour.

As a Catholic school, we will have a religion theme every week where we read a story from the Bible and also talk about skills such as sharing and treating each other with respect.  We will work on our Pre-Kindergarten skills such as letter and number awareness, social skills, large-motor activities, fine-motor activities, etc.  We will work a lot with child-based centers and learning through play and drama.  I have enclosed our goals and objectives for you to look over.

Also enclosed is an enrollment form.  Please fill it out and return to school as soon as possible. You will receive an email confirmation by April 3.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or text me at (402-801-0120) or call Cathy O’Grady at school (402-245-4151).  We have scheduled an Open House for April 5 from 6:00-7:00 P.M.  Please come and look at our classroom and our school.  I will be there to answer any questions you may have. We hope your child will be part of our preschool family this fall!
