Senior college presentations

2025 seniors open younger students’ eyes.

Recently the class of 2025 had the opportunity to visit each class to present about the college they will be attending and what they are planning to major in. The seniors were to create a poster including the school’s name, tuition cost, housing and any other benefits. There were six different groups with a variety of different schools based on majors and locations. The seniors enjoyed being able to explain to each class what they are going to further their education in.

There are currently eight senior who plan to attend one of the Southeast Community Colleges, four who plan to attend Northwest Missouri State, three who plan to attend the University of Nebraska, four who are undecided on their education after high school, one going to Kansas State, one to Dordt, and one who plans to further his education as an active member in the United States Air Force.

In response to his thoughts on the college presentations, senior Tate Wilcox said, “It is good to open kids’ eyes to all the opportunities they have after they complete primary and secondary school.”

Students listening to the presentations had the chance to ask questions about the colleges the seniors plan to attend. Senior Annika Reschke said, “I loved seeing the kids eyes light up and hands go in the air excited to ask questions.” There were questions about how they chose the profession they want to go into, why they chose that school, and how a trade school is different from a college.

Evan Bailey plans to attend SCC Milford in August for Diesel Ag Equipment Service Technology and is happy to go to a trade school where 75% of the learning is hands-on and only a two-year long program, while being close to home. “I am excited to learn hands on at a trade to better my future experience on our family farm,” Bailey said.
