May 16 was an important day for our school.  This was the day our seniors graduated.  Graduation is the culmination of thirteen years of education.  This is really the highlight of the school year as we watch the Class of 2023 receive their diplomas before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.  At Sacred Heart’s graduation, all our teachers are invited to walk and sit behind our graduating class.  This includes our elementary teachers and our high school teachers as all our teachers have been part of this thirteen-year journey.  Being a PreK-12 school, all in the same building, a close relationship between our teachers and students is created.  This relationship builds a family that continues beyond graduation.  Our entire staff wishes the Class of 2023 success in their futures.

We say goodbye to two Sacred Heart teachers.  Mary Barker, 3rd grade, retires after more than 40 years in teaching.  Mary was more than just a teacher as she did so much for our music program especially playing the organ at school Masses.  Over the years Mary was involved in many areas including Student Council, Quiz Bowl, and heading our School Improvement Team.  Thank you, Mary, for all you’ve done for Sacred Heart School.  Eric Stevenson, music teacher, leaves us after three years of teaching to get his masters at UNL.  Thank you, Eric, for teaching at Sacred Heart these past three years.

Thank you to all of you who made this a successful school year.  Thank you to our families, our teachers, our students, and all our benefactors.

Sacred Heart School – a family educating heart, mind, body and spirit for this life and the next.
