The 2025-26 school year is rapidly approaching, marking my 40th year of service at Sacred Heart. I look forward to another successful year. The first day of school will be August 14, with high school volleyball and football practices beginning on August 11, the Monday prior. As June has concluded and July is underway, it is evident that summer is passing quickly, as it typically does. Our dedicated staff is already preparing for the upcoming academic year. Custodian Mary Darveau and others are diligently working to ensure the school is clean and ready for students.
Before we move on to the new school year, we need to finish off the 2025-26 school year. Does your family have their 2025-26 tuition paid in full? If not, have you contacted the school to discuss this? It is important for the operation of our school that all families take care of their obligation of paying their school bill. Statements are mailed out monthly by the school office. Sacred Heart will work with families to come up with a plan for unpaid tuition. Communication from families is important. Our school has its own bills to pay, and tuition is an important part of our school’s income. Paying tuition with a credit card is an option as well as automatic withdrawals with our school paid directly from your bank account. If your family did not pick up your children’s report cards, have you contacted the school to see if you have any miscellaneous charges needing paid? Lunch bills need to be paid in full. The school office is open several hours each week to make payments or ask about unpaid bills.
Some summer projects at Sacred Heart could use volunteers. These are repairs, painting, or cleaning jobs. It’s hard to believe, but the RAC is ten years old. We need to do some painting in the RAC hallways and restrooms. If you have the expertise and the time to volunteer, contact me to see if you can help us with any of these jobs. Email me and I’ll get back to you. doug-goltz@cdolinc.net
For students participating in junior high or high school sports during the 2025-26 school year, an athletic physical must be on file before practices begin. On May 22, our students were offered the opportunity for a free athletic physical at Falls City Family Practice, courtesy of Dr. Tramp’s office. If your family did not take advantage of this offer, it remains your responsibility to ensure your child’s physical is completed before August practices. Additionally, incoming seventh-grade students are required by the state to have a comprehensive physical from their family doctor, along with updated vaccination records, submitted to the school office. Please submit any outstanding athletic physical forms promptly.
For families with new kindergarten students, all forms distributed at kindergarten round-up, along with vaccination records, physical examinations, and the child’s birth certificate, should be submitted to the school office by August 1.
