With the month of August upon us, it means that the new school year is right around the corner.  The first day of school for the 2024-25 school year is Thursday, August 15.  After the 9:25 AM Flag Raising we will celebrate Mass together as a school family.  August 15 is a Holy Day, the Assumption.   The Sacred Heart Open House is Tuesday, August 13 from 5:00-6:30 PM.  It will be picnic style with food and refreshments.  This is an opportunity to visit your children’s classrooms and see our teachers.

The Open House is also an opportunity for families to make a tuition payment for the new school year. An initial payment of $200 per student is to be made by August 15.  Tuition is very important and should be paid on time.  Families can set up various schedules to fit their needs.  Each family shall sign a tuition/fee agreement outlining the family’s plan for making tuition payments on the remainder of their bill.  What we cannot have are families who do not get their tuition paid by the end of the current school year.  If there are hardships or situations that prevent this, a meeting should be set up with the CAO to work something out.  We all have to pay our bills and Sacred Heart tuition should be handled in a similar way.

With the new school year beginning, I would like to remind you how important it is for ALL our families to be generous volunteers throughout the school year.  Volunteering helps keep our costs down.  We need our crew of volunteers to grow so all our families contribute in this way.  Your tuition only pays about 30% of the total cost of educating your children.  The rest comes from fundraising, parish assessments, the Sacred Heart Foundation, our Annual Fund, etc.  Volunteering helps with our expenses.  There are many ways to volunteer.  These are listed on the last page of the Student Handbook which will be posted soon for the 2024-25 school year on the Sacred Heart website.  Ticket takers, concession helpers, odd jobs, the Sacred Heart Fun Night/Auction helpers, line judges, JH and HS referees, snow removal, activity bus driving, and working at fundraisers are some of the ways you can volunteer.

Thank you to everyone who supports our school through their prayers, time and donations.  Enjoy these last couple weeks of summer vacation.  We will see everyone soon.

Sacred Heart School – a family educating heart, mind, body and spirit for this life and the next.  Thank you.
