Sacred Heart School Shamrock Fund
The Shamrock Fund, begun in the 2003-04 school year, was created to (1)
forward fund the Sacred Heart Teacher Incentive Pay Program and (2) to
keep tuition low and affordable for all families who want a Catholic
education for their children. Unlike tuition, donations to the Shamrock
Fund are free, voluntary gifts by parents, patrons and benefactors. Each
year, an annual goal is set, and when the goal is reached, an anonymous
benefactor matches the total of donations made on the condition that
tuition and parish assessments not be increased. The Shamrock Fund has
been a life-saving program for Sacred Heart, providing $700,000 over the
past seven years.
Up to now, there was an annual cap of $75,000 that would be matched. But
now, on the condition that Sacred Heart conduct a five-year pledge
campaign on behalf of the Shamrock Fund and Incentive Pay Program, the
$75,000 limit has been lifted and our benefactor has promised to match
the pledges for the next five years with no limit.
Yes, this is true. It is an amazing offer, an oppor-tunity that cannot
be passed up. So...our first need is for support of the Shamrock Fund
in the form of pledges for the next five years. Our own goal is to
obtain a minimum of $135,000 in pledges for each of the next five years,
with the hope of going as high as $150,000 for each year. For the past
five years, Shamrock has received gifts totaling $75,000 without an
organized campaign. The challenge is ours.
